Hussein is a representational artist who has only recently started to consider and explore abstract art. However, he believes representational art is the foundation of other art forms and always paints everyday scenes in and around Sudan. He finds that watercolour paints best represent these scenes because it closely resembles how the human eye and mind sees the world. Watercolour paints, he finds, gives his paintings depth.
